Title is explicit (I hope).
I can't have VDub display the video. However, when I start playback, I hear the audio. Even after trying multiple things and searching around, I'm still convinced this is a PEBCAK issue. Even if it is, I can't figure it out. And yes, before you ask, the video plays fine in VLC for instance. Video and audio are present. Oh, and even if it's a AVI, it was an MKV before (I converted, it has 1 video file, 2 audio files and 1 chapter file. I am pretty sure it matters)
Thanks in advance, ~Vgr
Edit: With Fraps enabled, the FPS appears (around 30) but still no video. I'm still heavily searching...
Edit2: This has been resolved. Scroll down for the answer.

Tell us, what do you see in the Input and the Output panel of VirtualDub ?
Are they 'black' windows, do you see a message 'No video', do you get an error message ?
Also look at File > Information... and look what kind of Video codec should be used.
You could also install de FFInputdriver plugin for VirtualDub, which will give you the ability to open a lot of different fileformats: - http://code.google.com/p/ffinputdriver/downloads/list |

Black windows. And I can preview input but not output. By 'preview' I mean 'hit the button' and not actually viewing anything.

Hmm that'll have to wait a bit. I deleted the old video and re-converting it from MP4 using a different method than the first time. I didn't think it would change something at first, but then it's good as anything to try.
Thanks, done. However it doesn't seem to make a difference. Oh well. I have to wait for the convertion to end anyway (and it's gonna be freaking LONG and huge compared to the original; I'm at 58% after a bit more than 5 hours, and it's at 6.6 GB while the original is 7.7 GB).
Edit: Oh and I'm using 1.9.11 just so you don't need to ask. |

God was I right. After re-converting it now works. It bigger than before, but now it displays... Also sorry for Double-post
To everyone else having this issue
Download Format Factory and convert your video to AVI. You should then be able to open it properly.
Thanks for your time and sorry for annoyance ~Vgr
Edit: VDub hates me... Now it displays BUT sound is all messed up and etc. I'll try to fiddle with it later, when I have the time...
