For those using VirtualDub for screen capture, here's a version that has support for the new DXGI Output Duplication support in Windows 8:

http://www.virtualdub.org/beta/VirtualDub-...test1-AMD64.zip

DXGI Output Duplication allows high-performance, hardware accelerated screen capture like the old OpenGL method did, in a way that is compatible with WDDM drivers. You need one of the public beta releases of Windows 8 to use this, preferably the Release Preview (older versions not tested). The rescaling support is also improved over the OpenGL code and uses a multi-tap bicubic decimation filter instead of a 2-tap bilinear filter.

This version adds support for capturing audio via the loopback path in WASAPI on Windows Vista and above. This allows for capturing speaker output without requiring a Stereo Mix or What U Hear path, which not all audio drivers support.
