Need Help With White Flashes, White Flashing Problem in newer versions

When viewing the Input Video Pane all versions since v 1.9.4 ( including v1.10.0 ) have a white flash for a fraction of a second every time you start or stop the video. This is very distracting for someone who does frame by frame editing all day long. I have tried 3 different computers with WinXP and Win7 and the same thing happens on all of them. I think this must be a bug and wonder if anything can be done to fix it.
