Hi
I have downloaded a video, californication which is accompanied by the song so i can put it on my mp4 player. The prob is that it has to be in the form avi, so im using virtual dub to do this. The archos site says: change video to divx and sound to mp3. When i do this, most videos i have tried have worked but this last one has not. It gets to about 21 frames at the most, taking about half a second and then an error comes up saying sync error. I have tried to find a solution by changing different things but nothing seems to work.
Please help |

Every time I've gotten sync errors, the reason has been audio problems, not video problems. Confirm this by NOT including the audio in the reencode. (Just for testing!)
I've usually been able to spot the error by playing it inside virtualdub -- it'll display "sync error" the same way the reencoding process does, so I just delete the frames that cause the problems (tends to be about 10-25 frames that need deleting :/ )
Of course, this might not be a good idea for music videos, where probably actually want to listen to the music. :/ |
