Hi guys,

I don't know why but if I replace VDub.exe (latest build) in the GKnot_folder with VDubMod.exe (latest build and I rename it of course) then the CompCheck in GKnot fails in my case...

everything is just fine, when the renamed VDub(Mod).exe is replaced again by VDub.exe

just to let you know...

Sill

I got a similar report in our bug tracking on SourceForge wink.gif

The problem is that since version 1.4.12.2 we moved the jobs from VirtualDub.jobs to VirtualDubMod.jobs, thus finishing to differentiate Vdub and VDubMod files (for people who like to collect multiple versions in the same folder wink.gif ).

However GKnot write its jobs in VirtualDub.jobs, and ask the .exe (VirtualDub.exe or whatever you pointed to in GKnot) to run the jobs.
It seems that GKnot uses the /x /r options (/r to run the jobs, /x to quit VDub at the end).
As VirtualDubMod use VirtualDubMod.jobs for its jobs, there is the problem.

A solution that could make GKnot compatible with every modification of VirtualDub (i.e. VirtualDubMod, or any other version that changed the file where jobs are stored) would be to use /x /s"path\VirtualDub.jobs" (without space between s and the parameter) which ask VirtualDub to execute the specified file as a Scylia script (which is the form of the .jobs file).

However I don't know how to join GKnot author (don't know his mail, and posting to moderators on Doom9 is not a good thing I think).

If you know, let me know, or drop him a note smile.gif thanks

I dropped TheWEF a PM at doom9 with the link leading to this thread and a short description of the problem.

Thanks smile.gif

I didn't do it myself because I read somewhere on Doom9 (a thread I think) that users mustn't PM moderators ...

You should not send a PM to a moderator like "Help, I dont know how to set Video to Direct Stream Copy...". IMO this is something different. Two great projects are involved and we should help to solve problems with combining them. I think we will see what happens and what doesnt happen. unsure.gif

Hi,

TheWEF told me that we should wait for his new tool. This new tool will be very flexible and able to work with nearly every other program that is controlled by cli - parameters. No need to to develop a program that fits with GKnot now.

It is just a question of time when we will see it.

@Sill: Just use an old VDub Mod version or simply VDub instead until the... sorry dont know when it comes biggrin.gif

You need the Dll packages (and the Lexer one to have latest AviSynth enhancements in VirtualDubMod).
It is available on the SourceForge page, and here.

Just an idea... What about changing vdub-mod so that the jobs file is named like the executable?

Great idea smile.gif
It took me some time to react wink.gif but now it is done.
This will be in the next version.

So for current versions of GKnot, users will have to rename their VirtualDubMod.exe into VirtualDub.exe so that the default .jobs file become VirtualDub.jobs instead of VirtualDubMod.jobs

Thanks again for the idea smile.gif
