I don't know what is meant by AVHC, but I do know there are a lot of variations of .mp4 out there. If you can post a small sample of your file then I will see what I can do to make it work.

Hmm... I open this file (in VirtualDub with fccHandler QuickTime input plugin) without any problem. Only audio is not (yet) supported.

I guess it works with 1.9.11 but no audio. I dont know whats going on with the 1.10 version.

Update, it must be some other plugin causing problems with 1.10 but the video works much better than 1.9.11 for seeking.

I think there are at least two other dedicated .mp4 plugins floating around, so if you want to test my plugin then you must make sure that you do not have any other QuickTime or .mp4 plugins in your Plugins32 folder. Otherwise you can't be certain which plugin will claim the file...

The audio format of your sample was Microsoft IMA ADPCM. This is the first time I have seen this format in .mp4, and I had to explicitly add support for it.

I also added a checkbox in the Extended Options dialog to defer video decoding to VirtualDub. Note that you can still override the FOURCC when doing so.

Oops, if you empty the list of FOURCC overrides in the Extended Options dialog, it is supposed to delete the key in the registry, but it isn't. I will fix that in the next release. For now, just delete the key manually if you need to empty the list:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\fccHandler\Plugins\QuickTime\FourccMap

I've uploaded version 1.6 with minor bug fixes. The aforementioned registry key is now deleted when the list is emptied, and the defer decoding to VirtualDub checkbox actually works (it did not work correctly in version 1.5).

Still... I do not have this problem (video decoded by latest x264vfw)...

I just installed QT-Lite v4.1.0 and loaded the test clip into VD v1.10.test14 and it works - complete with audio and video.

Ok, new issue with openning a video with 130,000 frames. It will not play.
If I take a single clip of the same video, I can open and view just fine.
Is there a size limit issue possibly?

I'm not aware of any size limits beyond physical filesize limits of any OS.
I have files with more than 500,000 frames and as long as I have enough space to process them I don't have any problems.

Have you tried converting the MOV file to something else like MP4 or AVI and working on the converted file?
I know it's a bit of an a$$ache to have to do this but I have not found many things that actually like MOV format (except to play it) and I usually end up converting the files first before attempting to use VD. My stills camera and surveillance software both store movies in MOV format and to be honest its a royal PITA to do anything with.

I ended up converting the file and then processing it with deshaker. I even contacted the developer of deshaker to see if that was the issue. Since the same video as avi worked just fine in deshaker, I am holding the plugin highly suspect. Since the file sizes and processing times are so great, 45 minutes to deshake, I cant do much of troubleshooting. I figured I would throw the question out there just in case someone knew of anything.

MediaInfo doesn't recognize the "svq3" fourcc but it recognize the "SVQ3" fourcc.
Maybe would be a good thing to set uppercased fourccs to improve compatibility.
