This is your filter, and you decide how you want it. I only offer ideas and suggestions (I believe that the nature of the forum is to exchange ideas and opinions for improvement and not only to complain about bugs or deficiencies.)
One more suggestion:
As the settings in the filter are dependent on visual adjustment, the preview could be enabled by default, and the 'show/hide preview' button could be removed to save space for other controls. |

I've no problem with suggestions and ideas :-)
V0.15 removes preview button and opens preview window automatically
My mind rebels at checkboxes for enabled and half-enabled
But that's because I'm looking at it and an annoying pedantic voice at the back of my head is going
Disabled? AND half-enabled... all at the same time eh.... hmmmm???
I'm so used to being able to chop and change things I want altering that it seems odd to consider that other people are getting-what-they-are-given
You should see my vdub mod, it's never the same program 2 days running

Then, maybe a button for 'enable' and a drop list for 'Full/Half preview.' 
I get what you mean, but what I meant is, these are two types of functions:
1. Partial setting: Type of preview (Full/Half.)
2. All settings (Active/Not Active.) only two states, there is no 'half-enabled'

V0.14 is fine with me. If the drop list combo could be rearranged from
-Show Effect
-Half frame
-Disable Effect
to
-Show Effect
-Disable Effect
-Half frame
that would do it.
Having 'Half frame' between 'Show' and 'Hide' is somehow distracting for eye comparison across the whole frame. |

Lets you tone down only overbright video eg flash glare on faces
Select how narrow a range of brightness to affect, reduction amount and pre/post brightness adjustment
It's a bit tricky as the results can vary from extremely subtle to foully hideous

Man, really good filter!
I like Half Frame. Good to compare.
But be carefull. Because new filters/utilitys/application use BIG Window / BIG Buttons / BIG Bars... and its not good for whom use 800x600 resolution (yes many, like me, use it).
