For files like flv, no, I only use GSpot for avi/mpeg files.
Thanks Placio
EDIT: I forgot Thanks for the answer Moitah. It's a shame :/ I think I'll open YouTube files with the url fmt=18. Less quality (they are 500kbps against new ~900kbps flvs), but at least they are MP4 and then, editable. (I don't know if your app flvextract works as I don't use .NET framework apps) |

Hovewer... can change container (FLV>MP4) used FFmpeg (just copy A/V to MP4) - after, eventually re-mux (MP4>MP4) used MP4Box (Yamb) to complete certain properties.

Thanks anyway |

This is not a long process - because A/V is simply copied to another container.

hayamiya: it's not necessary, you CAN open AVC(h264) with AAC in Virtualdub!

Rather, using 'DirectShow import driver' plugin - but not directly (and not through FLV input plugin)...

I suppose it may use the Import Driver, although to be honest, i never have to select it, it's simply drag n drop, which made me think I have the correct VFW codecs to handle it (using ffdshow).... ? Anyways, it does work!

So, I guess you do not have FLV input plugin, because then FLV files would be handled by him (as default).
DirectShow import driver does not 'use' VfW codecs, but just DirectShow filters. And of course it's external plugin - VirtualDub does not include this plugin by default.
DirectShow import driver handle any file type (that can be played through DirectShow, in WMP for example) and any file extension which is not supported by VD or other input plugins.
However, to open file with extension supported by VD or other input plugins (present in subfolder plugins) by DirectShow import driver, you must manually 'select' this plugin (when open A/V file).

A little bugreport. Trying to look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7IvLEpjPmc
...downloaded from YewTube by save2PC Utimate as highest quaity w/o recompression (FLV format) and when trying to open it into VirtualDub, it says: File "D:\Recipe for a Revolution.flv" does not have a video stream."
Damn. Using the VirtualDub 1.9.11 and FLVInputDriver.vdplugin v1.1.0 by Moitah... hope it does not require the .NET framecrap I just wanted the audio from the file...
Sample to test is there: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bg1zhz http://depositfiles.org/files/uv0momxjj

Hoooray! Using fccHandler plugin v2.4 things really work like a charm! Sadly, there: http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=7&t=19488 is the Moitah plugin still listed. Probably bad idea...
