Oh darn, forgot that bit !! sorry

Personally, I like Media Player Classic
http://mpc-hc.org/

In its options, there's a section called 'Output'
And in that bit there's a dropdown called 'DirectShow Video' that lets you change all the different ways it can render the video

You can try different settings there to find out what's best for you
Overlay mixer renderer - that's the graphics card hardware one that can sometimes be 'off'
Video Mixing Renderer 9 (renderless) - usually gives correct display, recommended for XP
Enhanced Video Renderer - usually gives correct display, recommended for Vista or newer

Thank you dloneranger!

Got it... no more grey haze!! Here's a summary of what you shared/suggested:

In Filters:

- Levels
Here is the only place I could preview image and saw the grey hue on my picture. (1) Uncheck "Operate in Luma instead of RGB" (2) Move curser towards 255 (white)- you'll need to do a few tests in regards to how much

- Convert Format to 4:2:0 planar

*This may be irrelevant, but did select "Sharpen" as image was a bit blurry

*Was not able to implement Multi Adjust Filter. Did unzip download and place into the existing "plugins' folder (and reboot computer)... when that didn't work, also added a new folder titled plugins32, but still did not seem to work. Given the other scenario has worked out, am assuming it's not worth hunting this solution down.

*Did a little inquiry and was told VLC Media Player is one of the better ones to share (less spam on page). This is ideal when you're sending out your files to folks who may not be up todate with your file formats.

Thanks again D... as your help was greatly, greatly appreciated!

Just for you info

The usual reason that Virtualdub doesn't see a plugin is down to which version you have

Virtualdub comes in two types 32bit and 64bit
The 32bit version can only use 32bit plugins/filters/codecs
The 64bit version can only use 64bit plugins/filters/codecs

The 32bit version is usually recommended because there are more 32bit plugins/filters/codecs
(Even on a 64bit operating system)
