| I posted this into the Capture section but I think it belongs here. Everything was working fine until I tried some experimenting. Now my capture will create only key frames and my audio is grossy distorted. On a 4 second test video, I get 68 key frames, 0 delta frames, and 4 audio frames. I got into this mess by having mpeg-4 V1 in compression with a setting of 1 key frame per 8 frames at capture time. The format was either 15 RBG or YUY2, I don't remember because I experimented with a lot of things today. It appeared to create just the key frames (not sure) but with no picture. I had to reset to get a picture but the capture is all wrong as I've mentioned above. Something is corrupted, and I don't know where to look. I couldn't find any uninstall in order to remove and reinstall. I found in the AuxSetup a remove option for the registry entries. Is that the uninstall? I could then remove the directory/folder and let the new install create everything fresh and clean. Thanks, if anyone can help. |

| I solved the problem. I have two solutions. First, and the easiest and least risky, was to restore the registry from the beginning of the day -- that worked. Second, to remove/reinstall, ... I looked all over the hard drive, and in the registry, and it looked like all I needed to do was remove the folder in which I had installed Virtual Dub, and then remove two Freeware entries in the registry. The two entries were in HK_CURRENT_USER and HK_USERS. That works, too. Actually, both entries disappeared when I took out the first one. I don't know if this was the proper solution but it seemed to work. |
