Having digitised from VHS using a DVD recorder, in the HQ mode, the resultant material when viewed constantly "jumps" from what you might consider "correct" colour - to a washed-out level.

Its as if the "saturation" or "colour" levels are being randomly tweaked.

The effect is not smooth, but looks like a switching between two "values".

I'm GUESSING that this is due to dropouts/wear/age of the original tape.

Can VD possibly take the "correct" colour info and write it to the washed-out sections and thus create a uniform colour response throughout?

Best Regards

There are some VHS filters for that kind of thing

There's another one by jpsdr on this site as well, but I can't find it right now

There's a fairly long list of filters here
