Hello everybody, I'm new here and didn't find a solution for my problem with the search function. This is my problem: I installed VirtualDub v1.7.8 and opened a video. The preview panes remained black. Stepping forward and backward left the preview panes black. Playing the input video shows the video, but after stopping and moving around with single image steps leaves the image staying the same. Playing the output video shows nothing. I also switched off DirectX but the problem persists. I also installed my old version v1.6.10, but now there is also no output for single images, but only for the input video. I now went back to version 1.5.10 and with this version display works even with DirectX. Does anybody know what I can do to use a newer version?

Are input/output video pane in the View drop-down menu selected?

Can you reproduce this with the test video (Tools > Create Test Video), and are you running XP or Vista?
