I have videos taken with Samsung S4 telephone/camera. The format is mp4. I used a program called Video Converter from Sweetpacks to convert the video to avi (I saw this converter used in a Youtube VirtualDub tutorial). When I try to edit the avi in VirtualDub I get a warning message about a sync error being caused by the variable bitrate. Is there any workaround for this problem?

First, I am not so sure about SweetPacks; there are Google hits about how to remove it:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Video+Conve...rter+Sweetpacks

Second, VirtualDub can most likely open your MP4 with the FFmpeg input driver

If you get the FFmpeg input driver installed correctly and it still won't open the files, please post a MediaInfo report and we will advise you on how to proceed.

Suggested free video converters: remember, go to the developers' websites for download links, nowhere else.(edit - added links)
