using virtual dub with divx 5,02 (gain) and the first pass runs great but when it tries to begin the second pass, it kicks out an error message that says "invalid log file"

Can someone tell me how to setup these log files so they can be read by virtual dub and divx. I know the problem is not with virtual dub as I can make vcd easily but not the elusive divx.
thanks

The log file DivX creates during it's first pass is used for the second pass. The only thing that comes to my mind is that you either deleted the log file or tried pointing to a new one for the second pass. Are you sure that the file name is exactly the same for both passes?

possibilities for an invalid logfile:

either you didn't crop very well; nulltransform for cropping: x1 and x2 offset must be an even number (for each!!) and your y1 + y2 offset must be divisible by 16 (to be 100% sure 32) or you used GKnot before for encoding a DVD...

then you have to do the following:

- go to video->compression
- choose divx5.xx (pro) and
- select your logfile again (c:\divx.log)... to be completly sure do the same with mvfile
- c:\mvinfo.bin

that should solve your problem...

if not - you know where to go cool.gif
