Often times issues or problems are posted that don't contain enough information to get a solution. It is common for a lot of time to be wasted trying wrong suggestions that wouldn't have been given if more information was included. Because of this, the post may remain unanswered, or unresolved.
Please try to answer the following questions when posting. To save time, feel free to copy the questions and answer them in your post.
1. Does it happen with all video files?
2. What version of VirtualDub and/or VirtualDubMod are you using? (The version number is in the top bar)
3. If you are using VirtualDub, does it also happen if you are using VirtualDubMod? If you are using VirtualDubMod, does it also happen if you are using VirtualDub?
4. If saving a file in VirtualDubMod, does it have the same problem if you save to AVI, OGM, or MKV?
5. Does it make any difference if you select a different Video/Audio codec as the compressor?
6. Go to File -> File Information and copy all of the information into the post.
7. When exactly does the error/problem occur? Openning the file? When you click the Save button? Partway through the save process? At the end of the save process?
8. What is the EXACT error message? If it just brings up the debug dialog, then say so. Saying, "I got an error." means nothing to anyone.
9. What Operating system are you using?
-------------------- Please take anything I say with many many grains of salt. I can't tell the difference between my AVI and a hole in the ground. |
