Try this flv video (not mp4) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHH2101OFfI
In virtualdub I get a picture like this

the right image is this

can anyone tell my why ?
I noticed the the problem occurs when the Display aspect ratio = 16:9 .... but i'm not 100% sure about that ...
ps in vfw configuration i have enabled FLV1 and VP6F codecs. |

The normally happens when the width isn't a multiple of 4 (or 8) You could try the ffmpeg input plugin instead and see if it's ok with that Link's in my sig
All the plugins http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=7&t=19488
Extract the contents to the plugins32 folder in virtualdub - both FFInputDriver.vdplugin and the ffdlls folder
To use the plugins On the file menu, select open video file Click on the video file you want to load so it is selected Change the 'files of type' to the plugin you want to use Now click OK
