When I try to open a .MOV with the fccHandler plugin installed, I get a missing codec AVC1 message. Where do I get this codec?

Prereq. is the installation of fccHandler's Quicktime plug-in (already done). You may also have to install fccHandler's AAC ACM codec for audio.
Next: Install ffdshow: - http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tr...ad?source=files
Next: (after the installation): go to the VfW (Video for Windows) configuration menu: - click on the 'Decoder' tab - in the left column click on 'Codecs' - then at the right, at the first line, at "H.264/AVC", click on 'disabled' and change it to 'libavcodec' - click OK
Now (re)start VirtualDub and verify if it works. |

Always important to try out instructions on someone who doesn't already know the answers!
Where would I find the Video for Windows configuration menu?
OK, found it. Start Menu > ffdshow > VfW Configuration
Already was libavcodec and still doesn't work.
But that may be because I have 32-bit ffdshow and I am trying to get 64-bit VirtualDub to read .MOV files. Try again. |

Every explanation can be made better...
Let us hope your addition will help other people too...
Although I had the intention that the starter of this topic never red my answer... Some people never think of giving any feedback (did it help or not), let go a word of thanks... |

I have Virtualdub 32-bit reading .mp4 and .mov files, no problem. I'm not quite sure how I accomplished this.
Earlier today I had Virtualdub 64-bit reading .mp4 but not .mov. I installed something new (probably knocking out a previously installed codec) Now it doesn't read either, and gives the missing codec [avc1] error.
What a pain. I've been trying to get this to work all day. One of you geniuses out there, please help!
[mod note] Solved in another thread He needed a 64bit splitter Either Haali or LAV can be used http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=deshaker&st=67 |
