Details: 2 Computers - WinXP (from the same disc) Connected with an RJ-45 cable (I think that's the name..) The first computer (PC1) is connected directly to the internet, and the other one (PC2) connects through the first one... The internet connection works on both computers
The Problam: PC2 is not visible in workgroup computers (on both computers)-- --I can't access PC2 from PC1
any suggestions? anyone?? |

Do they both have the same workgroup name? In any event go to network neighborhood. Once it is open hit f5. At that point "entire network" will show up. In their infinate stupidity Microsoft thought it would be nifty to hide it by default. Go into "entire network" and then "windows networking". Once there a list of all workgroups on the network should show. Check all of em out. |

yeah, I tried going through entire network, but no such luck... the computer didn't appear even on his network.. the internet gateway was working and I could also move stuff through the invisible computer..
anyway, when I set up the network configuration, I made quite a mass so I re-Formated my HDD and tried doing it the right way, and it worked..
I still don't know why exactly it happened, but it's probably some sputid thing I did the first time...
thanks for trying though.. |
