Hello. Sorry if I select wrong section for this thread.
I use VD 1.10.4 with "QuickTime.vdplugin" plugin for MOV video import (action camera). So, I open video and got artefacts on almost every frame: http://4.firepic.org/4/images/2014-09/05/u...aeraongn32d.jpg http://4.firepic.org/4/images/2014-09/05/r...69xic3m8nvy.jpg How to fix it? |

The QuickTime plugin itself can open MP4 and MOV containterformats, but depends of an audio- (AAC) and a video- (H264) decoder. When you actually open an MP4 and look into File > File information... you will probably detect a video-decoder that is not able to read the video correctly.
So, a number of steps to follow:
First, be sure that you downloaded and installed the QuickTime plugin from FccHandler (because there is also an other, older version): > http://sourceforge.net/projects/fcchandler...ktime%20Plugin/
Second, download and install the x264vfw (H264/AVC-1) video-codec: > http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/files/x264vfw/
Third, download and install the AacACM audio-codec (= not the AC3, but AAC. So take care to make the correct choice): > http://sourceforge.net/projects/fcchandler.../?source=navbar This codec is available in a ZIP with *.inf or *.bat installer (aacacm v1.9.zip), and also with an *.exe installer (SetupAACacm_X86_X64.zip)
After this, audio and video decoding should be alright when opening MP4 via the QuickTime plugin in VirtualDub.
Alternatives for this are the DirectShow plugin: > http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=7&t=15093 and the FFMpeg plugin: > https://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdub...peginputplugin/ |

Ok, download VD (clean). Download "quicktime.zip" (http://sourceforge.net/projects/fcchandler/files/Virtualdub%20Quicktime%20Plugin/). Copy "QuickTime.vdplugin" in "plugins32". Download "AacAcm Codec/aacacm v1.9.zip" (http://sourceforge.net/projects/fcchandler/files/?source=navbar) and run "Install the 32-bit codec.bat" by Administrator. x264vfw already installed in system.
Run VD, open MOV and got same artefacts .

See the FFMpeg plugin Abrazo has linked to, I think it may work better.
It's possible your file is corrupt - that's what it looks like. Before we can say for sure, we need to eliminate the decoder as a possible cause of the artifacts. (Have you viewed the video successfully on any other program? Which ones?) |

Yeah! I install "FFInputDriver.vdplugin" and remove "QuickTime.vdplugin" — and it's works (artefacts disappeared).

Maybe file is corrupt little bit. When I select 720P quality on my action-camera (SJ4000), then I got this artefacts, in 1080P quality all is fine. But Media Player Classic (with K-Lite) play any video without artefacts ("FFInputDriver.vdplugin" too).
Thank you guys, solved. |
