How much faster is P4 optimized 1.4.13 compared to standard 1.4.13 ? |

From what I have heard of people who have used it on a P4 there was not a massive increase in performance. And when you think about it why would it? Unless you are doing filtering there will be minimal difference. And even when doing filtering the external filters bottleneck you. And if the filters did not bottleneck you the codecs would. In short the P4 and P4 optimised software is not revolutionary. It does offer a spead increase. But the jurry is still out at this point as to whether or not the extra expendature is worth it.
But hey if Avery gets a new system out of it, it's all good. |
