I just downloaded the newest Logoaway filter and I can't seem to figure out the scripting for it. I tried to follow the v.2 instructions, but they don't seem to apply to the new one, at least not according to all the error messages I'm getting. I can turn the filter on, but it won't turn off, no matter how I write the script. Is there a current sample out there that I can copy or a how-to I haven't found yet? Basically, I want to turn the filter on at a specific frame and off at another, perhaps several times. It is a static logo. Please, any help?

When you want help on stuff, remember that although you know what you're talking about, other people may not
Include stuff like links to where you got the filter, where these instructions are etc etc
Things like 'latest' are less useful than 'version 4.1' - remember, the version may have changed when people read your message or the latest one people might google could be different
Latest I found was already 4.1, but your title says 4 and for all I know v4 may have had a bad bug fixed in 4.1?

You want to make it easy for people to help you as possible, they're less likely to if they have to go to a lot of trouble just to work out what you're talking about wink.gif

So....
Given that I don't know what version you're talking about, or what it's settings are... etc etc etc
I'll give you this general advice instead and hope it's useful

Virtualdub has a 'blend' feature that works on all filters
It lets you give each filter a % effect that will let you turn off the filter
To do this
On the filter list select the filter you want and click the blend button
Close the filter list
On the view menu, select the curves editor
On this curve editor, you can select your filter and then draw the filters % as a curve on the screen (top of the graph is 100% bottom is 0%) using shift-left-mouse-click (or was it ctrl??)
There's an example video at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1702491...CurveEditor.avi

Thank you for the reply. I understand your concern and I agree. I never realized how "touchy feely" these filters were. I have used the blend function, but thought the filters' own script would be better. The version is 4.01 and I don't remember were I got it, however the newest description of the filter I can find was for version 2.0 and the sample does not seem to work for 4.01. I will use the blend from now on. Thanks again.

Well, I figured out the script for static logos, but not the moving ones. Basically, it is different from previous versions in that you don't need to turn it off, it does so automatically. For example:

100-250 on
3000-3500 on

It turns the specified filter on at frame 100 to 250 and turns it off at 251, and on again at 3000 to 3500 and turns off at 3501.
Figures I was over thinking the process. As I have not encountered a moving logo recently, I will have to figure that out eventually. Anyway, just thought I'd post this. I hate it when others find a solution and never inform the group!
