Hi,
Sorry - this is a really basic question, but is there a utility that allows you to split mpeg files as easily as virtualdub allows you to split avi files? Something equivalent to 'direct stream copy' on virtualdub. What's the best tool? Obviously i could re-encode in virtualdub, but that way i'll probably lose quality. All i want to do is cut the files into pieces.

Please respect the forum rules. Next time make a search first on 'split MPEG' ... use TMPEGencoder from http://tempegenc.net , 'file' 'MPEG tools' .... but be aware its NOT as easy as using Virtualdub .... MPEG container sux for editing ...
We from the matroska team really consider to have a MPEG cutting tool one day that will use matroska as interims container, then mux back into MPEG once editing is done ....
-------------------- Visit the unofficial Virtualdub support forum on http://forums.virtualdub.org - help to reduce the big number of emails Avery Lee is getting every day !! Support matroska as container and Gstreamer as the only truely open, x-platform multimedia platform .... |
