Maybe VDub cannot work with this codec. Can you tell us exactly, what it is (or am I too stupid ?) You could see the details in the WMP

Hi,
the video is an avi recorded with PCTV Vision. It works with windows media player but not in VirtualDub.

When a video plays in Media Player but not in VirtualDub, it's usually because it needs a codec which is only available to DirectShow clients (VirtualDub is not a DirectShow client). There is a program called "Filter Graph Editor" (graphedt.exe) which comes with Microsoft's DirectX SDK. This program can work miracles, but it's not for newbies. In order to use it effectively you'll really have to do your research. But it's definitely worth the trouble to learn how to use it, and you could easily transcode that PCTV codec.

(Someday I need to start a GraphEdit thread...) wink.gif
