Hi everybody:

I've introduced a friend to the endless utilities of VD.

However he's having a problem that I cannot reproduce in my machine.

When he's trying to transcode an avi file with some audio problems, he's doing :
Video : direct stream copy
Audio : full processing mode

He gets an error message saying; "no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format (source format tag 2000)

What can he do to make it work ??
I can easily do that in my machine using the same file!!

What is he missing ??

Tks for any suggestion.

hilfer.

Download this codec - http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM/index.html
unzip all files to any directory, right click on INF file and select "Install"

Hi, I am having the same problem but with source format tag 0055. I downloaded and installed the mpeg codec this relates to, and gspot says its is installed, but I still get the same problem. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!

After Reading more posts both here and on doom9, and installing a lot of codecs, I discovered a post about using AVI-MUX GUI first, then processing with virtual dub and it works for anyone with the same problem.
