I'm using the MSU denoiser 2.51 on a grayscale clip. I've turned spacial and temporal up to max, but I'd be hard pressed to see a difference in the output pane.
I've noticed peculiarities with MSU filters before - does it only work with previous releases of Viretualdub ? (I'm using 199)
thanks for any info - Dave |

Only old versions of virtuladub, or a newer test version that has a workaround for this issue http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...ST&f=15&t=19355

Thanks - I've got the test version up and running. To be honest, I don't see much difference in the result whether I turn the option on or off. Perhaps that's not the issue. I guess it's possible that the very poor quality source is beyond that which the filter expects; neat video does a much better job but it's so slow. Here's the settings I tried:

Depends on the type of denoising it's doing - it does temporal and spatial Spatial is a more normal per-frame denoising Temporal denises over time, comparing pixels from the frame your on with the sme pixel in the next frame
Try changing the preset from automatic and you'll find more options

I've tried a few of those msu filters in the past. Problem i see is i cannot see, they have no preview button like other filters have. So need to constantly go back and forwards yo-yo'ing round and around. Is this a msu code problem or can virtual dub be coded so all filters have a preview button ? |
