First, am I right that you can only use filters in Full Processing mode?
I applied the Brightness/Contrast filter to a 1.5 GB file and the result was a whopping 6 GB. Why that large increase please? What if anything can I do about it? The file is only 2 minutes of video, and to all intents and purposes I've been regarding the original as 'only slightly compressed'. FWIW, it was from a screen capture made with the program FRAPS, and that's the codec used.

Thanks neuron2. My mistake was that I'd got into the habit of assuming you could only use Video > Compression when in 'Normal recompress' mode

Huffyuv is a great codec. What I use as the default.
I had used indeo 5.1 but I was getting sizes in the ranges of 25GBs even for short videos. |
