Hallo,

i had to make a video for my firm. Now my boss told me to creat a Start Screen with a logo from that firm. I'm using VirtualDub. Does anybody know, which filter is usefull for that problem? The Start Screen should be viewed ca. 5 sec befor the video starts.

Thanks a lot
Alex

Well, if you can create an avi file with your logo for 5 secs, you could then http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=11&s=6db0bab2712f9aadbe4d8e557a8898fb and put the two together. If you need to fade the one into the other, you can do that using Avisynth.

Or, if your logo is static, e.g., you just want a static graphic for 5 seconds, you can use Don Graft's Logo filter to overlay it. But you'll be overlaying the first 5 seconds of your actual video, so you'll want to leave yourself 5 extra seconds at the beginning of your clip (or i suppose you could generate 5 seconds of compatible black video using Avisynth). With this filter, you can optionally fade into the video, and optionally handle transparency, both of which are nice. It can also handle a series of images, e.g., if you want to generate 150 images (assuming 30fps), it'll stitch 'em together into a 5 sec video for you.

If you're looking for something more advanced, e.g., a different kind of fade from your logo to the movie, you'll need a non-linear editor (Premiere, Media Studio Pro, Vegas Video, etc.).
