Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > VirtualDub Filters and Filter Development > Matroska Plugin Direct Stream Copy & Interleave

Posted by: John I. Apr 28 2012, 11:11 AM
When using the Matroska plugin to export an avi from a Matroska file (MKV), and choosing direct stream copy, does the interleave factor apply ?

EDIT:
I exported 2 more MKV files and 1 FLV file to AVIs using direct stream copy and got the following results for all AVIs:

- GSPOT reports: I/L 'Not supported.'
- Media Player Classic reports: 'The AVI file was not prepared for sequential reading.'

Opening one of these AVIs in VirtualDub, and choosing direct stream copy with an interleave of 2 seconds, the resulting AVI is still not interleaved.

- How can a Audio / Video interleave of 2 seconds be acheived in such a case ?

Can anyone confirm this situation ?

Or at least point me to how to deal with it ?

I just tried with an mkv loaded with the matroska plugin

Loaded the video in, saved in direct stream mode
Loaded that avi, changed the interleave to 2000ms, saved in direct stream mode

GSpot reported that the first file was interleaved on every frame and the second was interleaved every 1998ms

That was with the latest matroska plugin and virtualdub v1.10.1 (32bit version)

dloneranger,

Thank you for your reply.

I just tried another MKV and the interleave was correct this time.

The difference between this one and the previous 3 MKVs is the audio.

The correctly interleaved file audio is MP3, and the other files are AAC. Would this be the reason?

On the other hand, are you still compiling the Current VirtualDub release with the 'wide' current frame cursor for the curve editor display?

If yes, can I have access to the binary. I'm still using the version you generously offered to produce. and I'd love to get the latest VirtualDub released features including your modification (Old age Vision problems.).

thats probably the problem (aac) - i don't use it, or have any test clips to check with atm

i don't have the latest version with the wide cursor, i'm not sure when i'd have the time to set up a fresh compiler
but, i do have my own mod of virtualdub 1.10.1
it's ..... a bit different, and some modifications are specific to my own pc
but you might find it interesting anyway

dloneranger,

I got your mod, and it is helpful. Thanks for the extras in the package (The filters, including your last version of the MultiAdjust filter -- The new controls layout is very practical.)

Thanks again.
