| Windows XP SP3 c:\Windows\System32\oobe\images\intro.wmv Doesn't playback in VirtualDub. Obviously some problem with the audio part:
Can this get fixed in the plugin? |

Except for the audio part, the video in that file plays fine with VirtualDub (using ffdshow's VfW interface, FWIW).
Someone would have to write an ACTUAL "wma acm decompressor". The one that ships with Windows is a joke, and the so-called "DivX Audio" is just a hacked joke. |

| OK, that is weird... As far as I can tell this movie doesn't have audio! It has something in the audio track but I don't think it's WMA. I get the impression that there is a trick to this intro, because the audio that you are supposed to hear is in a separate file, C:\WINDOWS\System32\oobe\images\title.wma. Note that after loading intro.wmv, you can load title.wma using the "Audio from other file" option, and this will get you something close to what Microsoft intended. |
