Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > VirtualDub Filters and Filter Development > Req: Eod's Auto Level Filter
Posted by: PaulEsch Jan 19 2003, 10:11 PM
I have searched everywhere and I am unable to locate the Auto Level filter by EOD. I believe that this filter would help because I can take various frames out of the AVI, put them in Photoshop 6.0 and use the Levels adjustments to correct the colors. I have tried using Graft's RGB Adjustment Filter, but I can't get the same result as with Photoshop. Any suggestions would be appreciated, or send the filter to me at submit@worldofescher.com Thanks.

The URL, http://argx.20m.com/, is gone, or has moved without a forwarding address. Anyone know of a way to duplicate this type of color correction using other filters?

This is an old thread I know, but if you still want it you can download it from: http://www.videoxone.de/vdfilters/cgi-bin/filterlist_e.pl I am transfering old 8mm films at the moment and I ran one through this filter and the results were great. I ran another one through and it wasn't so great. The colours will change over time depending on the subject, but on some horrible muddy shots that I haven't been able to do anything with myself, it really improved them What would be good is a filter that would sample a clip and work out the correction and freeze those settings and apply to the whole clip. Or, at least display the settings used to correct the clip so you could make a note and add it manually. I just find rgb adjustments and the like trial and error, mostly error.
