Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > VirtualDub Filters and Filter Development > How To Make Own Textsub Styles Stay?

Hi!

The only problem I have with burning subs to avi-files is that any modifications I make to the TextSub styles are not staying, with the only exception that I render the file immediately. Then and then only I get the style's settings as I want to the resulting video. If I save to the job list the TextSub suddenly uses it's default style and ruins the video.

Can the TextSub settings be saved somehow permanently modifying some (.ini?) file somewhere or can at least the Default be modified by user so that it will stay? Would it probably also affect the AutoGK 2.40 subtitling which also seems to use the very default of the TextSub style.

It'd be a great relief if anybody could tell me how to tackle this issue..

From the VobSub start menu folder, run SubRsync. Open your .srt, .ssa or .ass file, modify the settings, then save it.

For .ssa and .ass the settings are saved in the file. For .srt files the settings are saved in a .srt.style file. TextSub will load the matching .srt.style file for a .srt if it exists.

Right. I've been using MicroDVD .sub-format for my subtitle files since it's the only one understood by my DVD-player (an old LG) and it's compact in size too. I'll learn the possibilities of the other formats in the future when needed.

Althought, burning the subtitle files on DVD-R with "high" file priority on Nero is almost the same, but the playback always depends on the capabilities of the DVD player in use, not always mine..

It's a bit sorry though that one can't make the changes to the TextVob Default settings directly, but at least there's a way.

Thanks! smile.gif
