So gordianknot has also abilty to do same as VDMod_Resize filter for virtualdub (thanks for info).

| Hi....I have done all my captures in avi (uncompressed)...so I am wanting to use Virtual dub to do a final edit_cropping on my files...I am reasonably familiar with using the basics but I have a couple of questions which I would be extremely grateful for advice on....If I crop out (eg bottom tracking lines) do I have to do a resize and if so what rules are there for getting the right aspect ......then I presume I can frameserver onwards to a program that will produce the files required for a DVD .....What program should I get for this... or Am I going about this the wrong way...Thanks HK.. |

| Download from here http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VirtualdubMOD Next extract VDMod_Resize filter from the plugins32 folder and place in you virtualdub plugins32 folder, then start virtualdub. This resize filter will help it will show you when ar is correct, for the video resolution. | An error of up to 2% is usually said to be tolerable. More gets ugly. I use GordianKnot to calculate my resizing values (it has a screen, where you can enter aspect ratios and then select the values in 8- or 16-pixel intervals, as needed by codecs). Greetings, E. |

If you captured your material at full resolution (720x480 for NTSC of 720x576 for PAL), and you just want to save it to DVD, don't use crop, but apply fill. That way you get to keep the original aspect and you don't have to worry about it. http://www.loadusfx.net/virtualdub/fill.jpg |
