| I need assistance with the audio compression. I have e.g. a divx file with AC3, 6 ch, 48 KHz, 448 kbit/s audio. I want to edit the volume, so I switch to full processing mode and make the volume adjustment. At compression I select again AC3; the 6 ch compression rates are correctly shown and I select the same or a different rate. Trying to save as the file there's an error that the requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format etc. But even without volume adjustment (I found the post) it is not possible to save the file with the same compression, the same format but in a different bitrate. I have either to select a different compression like mp3 or make a conversion to 2ch stereo or another sampling freq. I tried to find a wrong setting or another hint so many times - do I have a comprehension problem? How do I manage to reduce audio bitrate keeping codec and format? What am I doing wrong? |

| It is a limitation of VirtualDub, for now you can do it with http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_video/video_editing/virtualdubmod_aud-x_compatible.cfm. |
