Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Advanced Video Processing > Convert Movie To Pwl - Voltage X Time Format

Posted by: angela18 Dec 15 2010, 06:44 AM
Hi,
is it possible to use VirtualDub or any filter to convert a movie to a Piece Wise Linear format. This is just a voltage as a function of time signal. I can translate a sound WAV file to PWL using Matlab, but I never heard anything about converting video to PCWL.
Is it possible?
Thank you so much.
Angela.

VDub can only output to .avi, if the file type in question doesn't work in an .avi file then the answer is no.

It is possible to write an output plugin for it, the plugin SDK is available.

Ok Thanks for the answers. IŽll check the SDK and IŽll try it out to write a plug in to output a signal file.
Thanks,

He's released an output plugin SDK? I thought that was input only.

Not sure, but I thought the output stuff is also available - if not publicly, I would hope it's available at least on request.

There is no output plugin support at this time, but the external encoder support in the experimental branch allows you to write one relatively easily, if YV12 input is OK.

This is what I meant - meine bÀd énglish had me talking about a "plugin". Sorry. Hehe. ^^
