Hi hope that you can help me. Stumbled into a new problem couple of days ago. Have been using Vd quite a lot without problems, until now. What happens is that Vd starts and continues until 'Paging file usage' is 100%. Sounds ok, but why is Vd using Paging?? And since I've never had this problem before, I'm wondering??
I have the following configuration:

P4 1500
256 MB (usage around 240 MB)
Win2000 newly installed (same system as before which worked)
Virtual memory 2047 MB (usage Allways at 3%)
Paging file system 1385 - 2100 MB over 3 disks (increases from ca 12% until Vd fails) It allways fails when the 2100 MB is reached
Converting DV and PCM to DivX 5.02 and mpeg

Have tried with and without sound, no change

Please can you help me??

What codec are you using to compress ?

Hi there,

I'm using DivX 5.02 Pro and Lame 3.92

I've increased the Paging file system to over 5,5 GB but I still get the problem and if I remember it right the crash comes around frame 18761 out of 114368, no matter which paging file size I have.So I guess there is no Paging problems, must be something else.

What settings are using for DivX 5.02 pro ? Have you turned GMC and Q-Pel on ?

On audio, if you say you use Lame 3.92, i suppose you handle the audio externally in Besweet or HeadAC3he ? Dont use lame.acm, its bad bad bad ( believe me, i am working with the guy who made it tongue.gif ) .... lol .
Go for Fraunhofer Professional Mp3 codec ( make a search on l3producer*.* in google ), or you search google for 'mp3 codec' and see if anybody gives you a valid, registred copy for free wink.gif ...

I found the problem now. It was the DV-codec that made it crash. I'm now using MainConcept DV codec 2.0.4 It's for free. If you use it for reading (which I'm doing) it works as a normal codec, but if I want to create a DV video it will burn a logo if you haven't payed for it so I'm happy again cool.gif

Thanks for all the help I got

Steve
