Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Newbie Questions > What Does 0-bit Sample Precision Mean?

Posted by: rooster6975 Sep 24 2002, 07:50 PM
Hi,

When I open an AVI, I choose File - File Information. In the audio section, there is information about the audio streams within the file. One of the things it tells you is sample bit precision.

When I make an AC3 AVI with 5 channels, it always says :

Sample Precision - 0-bit

What does this mean?

Thanks,
Rooster

Cause: VirtualDub doesn't know how to interpret AC3 audio streams
Workaround: Pretend that the field says "unknown" instead of "0-bit"
