Hi! When I split a movie in half with virtualdub and save it as avi the first half of the movie works perfectly but the second half crashes the divx player! I tried to do it with different movies and everytime the second half crashes. Can anyone help me please? Thanks ;-) SMG

Ok after I read my post I noticed it is not clear enough :-) When I said first half of the movie I mean (1of2) is working fine but (2of2) is crashing.

Are you sure your 2nd half will start on a keyframe ?

Yes I'm sure. Today I downloaded another virtualdub version and now it gives this error when I open the file with it: VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR encoding in the source avi file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility...." and it goes on. Please help :-)

OK, its easy now. Your AVI contains a VBR audio track, and DivX Player from DivX Networks cant handle that .... use any DirectShow player like 'The Core Media Player' from http://www.corecoded.com or BSPLayer, Zoomplayer, WMP 6.4 and you'll be fine ...
