Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Newbie Questions > Using Huffyuv With Multidecimate

Is it possible to use a huffyuv (fourcc -hfyu or ffvh) video clip with multidecimate?

I have tried with both and get error messages that say "AviSource:couldn't locate decompressor for fourcc".

Thanks!

you don't have a vfw codec installed for huffy
if you have ffdshow, enable it in the vfw config dialog (and you might as well enable it on the video decoder config dialog as well)

vfw is set to huffyuv.

It will play in virtual dub but I get the error message when using multidecimate.

Any other suggestions?

If it loads in virtualdub then it should work fine with avisource in your avisynth script
(it is an avisynth script? I'm having to guess here as you're mentioning multidecimate as if we should what your talking about)
Which 'it' plays in virtualdub? the avs script or the source video?
What happens if you try changing to directshowsource instead of avisource
