| How do i encode AAC with a vid in virtualdub? It would be nice if it can support 5.1 channels. Thanks. |

| You will need the Vdub 1.10 version along with the external encoders: http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=18840&hl=external+encoders I got the Nero AAC encoder through some other program I downloaded some time ago that had it included since I don't like giving my email to everybody. I can't recall which program it was that included it. The encoder is free to use but I don't see why I should have to give them my email. If I'm paying for something or registering to a forum that would be different. On the matter of 5.1 Vdub I don't believe Vdub works with that. I've never dealt with surround sound but my guess would be that if a file was imported into Vdub with 5.1, Vdub would merge the audio tracks to stereo. Some one can correct me on this one if I'm wrong. I went to try and search for surround sound posts but I guess I'm kind of quick with stuff; so much that flood control on my end just got enabled, lol. Update: Apparently there is a mod of Vdub called "Aud-X"? I am not familiar with it but my best guess would be that it might not be made for using external encoders which the experimental Vdub can use. |
