I just recently switched to Win7 64Bit. I'm still using 32Bit version of VDub and I'm encoding with average 25 fps in x264.

Anyway, is there any speed gain if I were to switch to 64Bit?

Give it a try - you can have as many versions of virtualdub on your pc as you like (as long as each one is in it's own folder)

Bear in mind though that you can only use 64 bit codecs and 64 bit filters with it, so your choices will be limited compared to the 32bit version

In my limited testing, it made hardly and difference - but that could change depending on what codecs, filters etc you use

I use only this for compression: http://komisar.gin.by/ Always have, always will. Gives me the best result to compress my gameplay video in terms of quality:video length.

20GB uncompressed fraps footage, about 11 min. worth of video, come out as 300ish mb, in 15 min. encoding time.
