Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Newbie Questions > Looking For Sort Of A "transparency" Filter

Posted by: amateur Dec 7 2011, 11:31 PM
Hi,

please excuse my hopefully not too stupid question.

I'm looking for a filter which makes two videos (or, say: two segments of a video) semitransparent and blends them together.

Maybe I can describe it a little more detailed so that there is no misunderstanding.

There are filters (like exotic fade, by nnever2000), with which you can make a video gradually dissolve into another one, thus making a transition between the two.
The transition is something like this: At the beginning the first video is 100% visible and the second 0%, after a while both are 50% visible and finally the first is 0% visible and the second 100%.

However, I'm looking for a filter which does *not* make them *gradually* fade in and out, but which rather "holds" the transition at a certain level, e. g. 50%.

Is there a filter which can do that? I suppose there should be a filter of that kind, but I've searched the internet for a while and I can't seem to find it, unfortunately.
Maybe one of you can name me such a filter? That would be great. Thanks in advance!
