Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Newbie Questions > Adding A Welcome Screen To Video ?

Posted by: mimini Jan 9 2008, 02:00 PM
hi!

i have a avi file and i would like to put a 4 or 5 seconds welcome message in front of that video, which would basically be a picture that i created with gimp, like a black background with white letters saying hello everyone.

So when i finished creating that welcome-picture in the same size as the avi (512x384),
how can i put it into the beginning of the avi-file ?

many thanks for your time

In Windows you can use Windows Movie Maker or other Video maker (I think Sony has a good one out but it's not free) which can do that + add special effects and frames transition; Under Linux um... no clue sorry sad.gif But if you find a movie maker application, when you are done with the project, save the file as an uncompress video and compress it with VirtualDub.

Good Luck wink.gif

How can i safe it uncompressed with the moviemaker ?
I can safe it in 99different wmv formats or as DV-avi
but with DV-avi i dont know how to do the resize thing back to 512x384.
It only gives me 512 x 409.6 instead blink.gif

edit:
