Hello,

I just wanted to be sure that I will not install codec packs after my next format.. so.. its better to install each codec itself than installing these silly codec packs?

Yes, for a couple of reasons. One is that there are plenty of video codecs out there that are broken and can interfere with other by claiming each others' formats, usually by crashing. Another is that Windows can act erratically when you have too many installed -- I've seen crashes in Windows XP in the video codec system that went away when enough codecs were removed.
