Hi.

When i open a AVI File, Virtualdub show me this message "VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source....." and when i try to view a preview of the movie, i can't hear the audio.

So, i try changing Audio from "Direct stream copy" to "Full processing mode", but when i try to get a preview of that, Virtualdub shown this message "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source format.".

The File Information for Audio Stream is:

Sampling Rate: 48000Hz
Channels: 2(Stereo)
Sample precision: 0-bit
Compression: Unknown (tag 0055)

Could somebody help me please?
Thanks

That´s because your audio stream is mp3.. and VirtualDub cannot deal with that.

First of all, you have to save the audio stream to uncompressed wav:

Open video file.
"Audio" -> "AVI audio"
"Audio" -> "Full processing mode"
"Audio" -> "Compression" -> "<No compression (PCM)>"
"File" -> "Save WAV..." -> (enter there wav file name)

Then, just went back to VirtualDub and do the follow:

"Audio" -> "WAV audio" -> (browse to needed wav file)
"Audio" -> "Full processing mode"
"Audio" -> "Compression" -> Choose compression you want
"File" -> "Save as AVI..."

Of course, doin´ that u´ll loose a little bit of quality of the audio stream.

Or you can try VirtualDubMOD. biggrin.gif

OK.
Try using direct audio stream copy.

Open video file.
"Audio" -> "AVI audio"
"Audio" -> "Direct Strem Copy"
"File" -> "Save WAV..." -> (enter there wav file name)
Then rename the filename to xxxxx.mp3.

After that, decode the mp3 file using any program that handles mp3 format.. like goldwave or whatever do u want to use.
