| i am new to use virtual dub and i need to encode some videos from (AVI) to (MKV) by using (X264) Codec I have the (X264) Here http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/2530/5rg.png And i can not find (extrnal encoders) http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/9679/456s.png how can i get (external encoder ) ? and please i need to know more a bout scripts , is it nessecary to use script to do my jop plese explain it to me ; Sorry 4 my english waitting ..... please help |

| Look at "http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=18840" topic. BTW As an external encoder You can use 'standalone' command line encoders (such as official x264) - VfW framework is not used in this way, so You can't use x264vfw (unofficial version adapted for VfW). |

Hi friend, You'll have first to get the CLI edition of x264 available at their official website "x264.nl". If you're not familiar with VirtualDub External Encoder Feature then you'll have to read the topic mentioned above. It will take you some time to figure how it works, but ones you've set your profiles up, everything will be automatic. If you have any questions about x264 CLI settings then I'm ready to help. | or you can just use an external free encoding program to do all the messy work for you try this freemake video encoder |
