Hello guys,

I am desperately trying to configure my virtual dub to encode using VBR process instead of CBR for mpeg layer 3 audio. I have Lame 3.96.1 installed and VDub appears to recognize it. However, when I go Audio-> Compression select Lame MP3 in the left pane the only variety i get is ABR and CBR no VBR sad.gif . I have been puzzled over this for quite awhile now, please help out if you can.

Thanks in advance,
-KBryant8.

You cant use ABR/VBR mode in VirtualDub, you need to use CLI (lame.exe) for that.

well google is a good place to start, and the lame cli has its options explained if you just start it without in any switches...

muxing can be done with AVIMux GUI.
