I have used many. Currently I have been playing with LameXP: http://lamexp.sourceforge.net/ FAQ's: http://lamexp.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=lamexp/lamexp;a=blob_plain;f=doc/FAQ.html;hb=HEAD I like the mp3 tagging with this program. Sometimes I use mp3tag by Florian Heidenreich because of the extra two fields for artist and composer but I guess that could be redundant since one artist name is enough for me. mp3tag has many options and actions to it that I haven't yet experimented with. mp3tag: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ LameXP and mp3tag are both freewares. mp3tag does accept donations, LameXP doesn't.

QMC might be a good program but be aware that you will be opted to install the "ASK" toolbar which might or might not be easy to uninstall without some work. I didn't know this until after the fact. I started the QMC program but task-killed halfway through the install process because I didn't want to install "ASK" but it looks like it got installed anyway. I hate these things especially when they install behind your back. Nowhere on the maker's site did it specify that "ASK" would be including in their package. Whether or not "ASK" is spyware or not can be debatable but I have had this installed a few times before, not by my consent, and one time it was a pain to get rid of. Other times it was simple. Ads I don't have much of a problem with but I will not install a BHO.

Now I have a problem. I can't uninstall this software and it isn't showing in the add/remove. Great. Either I reinstall this app, and get more problems, so I can use add/remove and then go through malwarebytes later on or just remove the program directory and folders in the two appuser directories and kill the registry keys and be done with it. Hmmmm- decisions. Software and ASK removed.

Never install software suggested by spammers !!!

Wow. I can usually tell who the spammers are but that one got passed me. I'm going to have to be more careful about this. What was the tip-off of that one?

Do you have the board set to show peoples's sigs? He had two for advertising websites that you wouldn't normally go to
Posted by: rjisinspired Dec 29 2011, 01:04 PM
Yep. enabled under board settings. In the past I had noticed spammers sigs for stuff like shoes, rings, business ops and other junk but I didn't notice anything this time around for sigs. I was kind of afraid of this in a way. My vision has been kind of depreciating as of these past few weeks, I have been noticing, and it has been of worry to me. It's a neurological issue more than it is with the eyes. I think I'll make an appointment with my eye specialist some time soon to check up on them anyway. I have been hesitant with going to the eye specialist in general because of hearing bad news which there kind of is, what I was told quite a while ago. I was told that when I hit my mid 40's I will be heading toward blindness. Not something anybody wants to hear. It is now important that I get as much visual stuff taken in as much as possible. If there ever would be an operation for this, someday, I don't think I would ever go for it because there would be huge risks involved. Guess MS's magnifier app will be coming in handy now, lol.

you ever use AIMP? http://www.aimp2.us/
Posted by: rjisinspired Dec 30 2011, 12:32 AM
Wow that player have everything in it except the kitchen sink! Kind of resembles my xmplay32 player with a Gom skin to it. Is getting the beta version preferred over the stable release?
Posted by: evropej Dec 30 2011, 03:00 AM
I see no difference. I got the latest. This little thing rocks. Its what winamp used to be, a simple little mp3 player. I have used the recorder and converter as well. Great programing and great freeware.

AIMP3 (beta) One of your better suggestions evropej! It's actually quite neat I also grabbed some skins and plugins - some are really good. The internet radio ain't bad either!

I really like this player. The ramping feature for leveling inconsistent volumes with files is great. The default skin reminds me of Gomplayer a bit. The site had pages of user skins a few days ago but all I see now is only one page of them.
