Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > General Discussion > Avi Decompressor Woes

Greetings..I'm as new as one can get. Trying to get a YouTube video into VDub for a project. Downloaded video just fine. Downloaded MP4-AVI converter just fine. Dragged converted AVI video into Vdub and get message "couldn't locate decompressor for AVC1 file". What are "they" talking about? I have Vista and there is no "decompressor" shown on computer. I just want to get AVI file into VDub. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

VfW codec for H.264/AVC1 is required - ffdshow VFW (ffdshow Video Codec) or x264vfw.
