i have a 2gb motorcycle clip and when i use deshaker it becomes 14gb...i can not upload on youtube because of the size...are there any other programs that are less process intensive or am i stuck?... sad.gif

Did you select a video compressor before you started processing?

thanks for the reply fred...yes i did compress first with cinepak then deshaker...so what i did is i compressed it again after deshaker and that made the file smaller...i also just started over with just deshaker then cinepak and the picture was slightly better and again the file smaller...could you explain to me if i can do all these processing at once or do i do it one at a time?...deshaker makes the image blurry and colors washed out, am i doing something wrong or is that the way it is?...sorry for all the questions, this is all so new to me... tongue.gif

Cinepack is what is making it blurry. Its a 2 decade old encoder. tongue.gif Get something newer like XviD. Yes you can do compression and filtering at the same time.

XviD will give you smaller file size while still being fast. If you are planning on keeping a copy for yourself you might want to consider x264, it offers smaller filesize but takes longer to compress.

XviD:http://jawormat.republika.pl/xvid.html
Settings: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xvid-vdub-final.htm

x264: http://komisar.gin.by/ (you want the VfW x86 version in the middle)
Settings: http://sites.google.com/site/gabextreme/x264vfwunited (at the bottom, skip the link near the top it doesn't work)
EDIT: The cuide is somewhat out of date, but most of the info should still be good.
EDIT2: Anyone else know of a good easy-to-read guide to x264 settings that isn't out of date? Or am I going to have to write one myself?

my original 2gb avi file became over 28gb after deshaker...and the picture is not as sharp...the XviD is a great help stephan, fred...thank you both so much...not only is it smoother than cinepack (1340 mb) but it reduced my file to 450 mb... biggrin.gif ...i will be playing around with filters, compression, music, and post the clip on youtube...

btw, why is youtube not as good as the original?...

They recompress everything they get to make it smaller and to make it stream better.
