| Did you read format restrictions for DivX 5? Check your picture size - width must be multiple of 4, height must be multiple of 2. |

You cant change that in the DivX encoder setup, but only in the resizimg filter of Virtualdub ... |

| I get this error when attempting to encode using VDub in the following scenario. Input: 720x480, square pixels, HuffYUV "convert to YUV/predict median" Output: attempting to run 2nd pass of DivX 5.04 beta ("schizo") encoder. 1st pass ran correctly AFAIK, no problems. attempt to begin 2nd pass (in Nth-pass mode) immediately brings this error. Any suggestions? === edit === Forgive me, I figured it out. What happened: I was used to having my DivX 5.03 set up with the proper paths to H:\divx.log and H:\mvinfo.bin files. Notice that my hard drive is H: in this case, not the default C:. So when I installed the DivX 5.04 beta update, it reset the default locations to C:\divx.log and C:\mvinfo.bin. Then my 1st pass ran correctly or appeared to. It should have complained that it was unable to save the log and mvinfo files... but it could not, because I had the "do not give warnings and errors" box checked! Therefore I remained unaware of the cause when my 2nd Pass failed. If Phaeron sees this, may I suggest that the error popup for (error -2) be updated to include a note that advises the user to check whether pathways to logfiles (if any) are set correctly in the codec's configuration dialog. ? Thanks again. My pixel dimensions do conform to the requirements for DivX. Does DivX have a problem encoding from YUV or something? I believe I have encoded from YUV to DivX before, using 5.0.3. Could this be a 5.04 beta problem? |
